Red Dot App
The Red Dot Design Award is the leading award in the design world and has been bestowed upon products in a range of categories since 1954. To bring interested customers and these products together, and also to provide an additional platform for award recipients, redPlant was hired to develop the Red Dot App for iOS and Android.
Simple Operation
The abundance of content in the Red Dot App is sorted into categories. This ensures easier operation and browsing through the available design products.
Native IOS and Android Application
The Red Dot Design Application is available for iOS and Android. Development was done using the respective native tools (Objective-C, Java).
Conception, Design, and Development
redPlant takes on the entire conception from the start of the project, coordinates the design with Red Dot, and develops the application. This is a long-term project in close cooperation.
Design Locations
The Red Dot Maps let the user access different design locations and routes. Whether showrooms, design events, or products – everyone can find appropriate suggestions in their vicinity.
Clustering
In order to serve the more than 25,000 design locations for the user in bite-sized pieces, the locations are clustered according to zoom level and number. Server-based clustering with Node.js improves usability, because nobody likes jerky applications.
My Routes
In addition to the Red Dot Maps, users can put together personalized routes. They can mark selected design locations in the Red Dot Maps and define the best possible route.
